Moving Up to the Next Level: GenTwo's New Headquarters in Zurich

As anyone knows who has been following GenTwo lately, we’ve been growing. In April we announced we had topped 100 employees, and we are currently on track to reach around 120 by the fall.
 

Knowing that there wouldn’t be enough room at our old location, last year we began searching for new space. This year, we found it when we occupied the second and third floors of the renowned Hochhaus zur Schanzenbrücke.
 

Previously home to UBS, this majestic building – with its 50 meter high tower rising out of a two-storey high base – it is not only one of Zurich’s highest, it is also one of its most recognizable.
 

A New Space for Innovation

The move has been an opportunity for us not only to change location, but also improve how we work together.
 

Instead of fixed seating or cubicles, we have designed the over 1000 square meter open-plan second floor with a number of different types of space. Flex-desk working areas, high-desk informal catch-up zones, lounges, focus rooms, telephone cabins, a welcome zone and a cafeteria make for a dynamic and varied working environment conducive to collaboration and – so we intend – continued innovation.
 

Clients who visit us can expect a dedicated welcome zone on the third floor, where we also have our client-facing meeting rooms, some of which can double as event spaces.
 

Then of course there is the spacious terrace. With its views of the Schanzengraben canal and the Zurich financial center, it is not only a great place for us and our visitors to relax and even hold meetings under our sun/rain canopy. It can also serve as an event space as well (and in fact, already has).
 

These new offices certainly represent a major milestone for us as we mature as a company – a symbol of our transition from startup to successful scale-up, and a fitting new home for our growing family.
